Hahaha, yea, those wheel assemblies on the Mako can be a pain. Particularly because of the repetition.
With small models like this I actually just use normal printer paper. Of course the downside is that the models are a lot more flimsy and damage easily.
Regarding those white edges, what many people do is remove the glue tabs entirely, and use small scraps of paper at the back of the two parts that get joined. That way you have the two edges on the same level and the "step" effect is gone. I have seen some people do this so well, that you can't even notice the seam.
I'm actually annoyed too that a lot of the white parts are showing, but that's probably because I use quite a thick paper. I think it's double the normal thickness, so 160 gsm, but I can't remember anymore. Maybe I should use less thick paper, what do you think?
Also I'm curious how do you build a model that looks really clean without the white edges? I really don't want to color it because then I would need to match the marker's colors to any model I build.
I'm still building your Mako btw.
I am not a collector of this kind of vehicles, but your NORMANDY SR2 has tempted me!
hope you like it
